The Perfect Bride The DeWarenne Dynasty Brenda Joyce 9780373772445 Books

Blanche Harrington has resigned herself to a life devoid of passion
and love but she needs a husband. She will have to choose one
gentleman from her long list of suitors.

Rex de Warenne lives a solitary life in the country. He is plagued by
guilt and loneliness. He has always admired Blanche, but only from afar.

Blanche arrives at Rex's home and catches him a compromising position
with the maid. Rex is convinced he will never win her affections now
but Blanche is an amazing woman and they begin to forge a friendship
anyway. They each harbor secrets though. Rex has a son no one knows
about and Blanche is beginning to remember the day her mother was
brutally killed. Blanche's secret is not only destroying her
relationship with Rex, it is threatening her life.

There is passion and pleasure in The Perfect Bride, but the hardships
Rex and Blanche face are constant. Rex and Blanche are wonderful
characters and I was so pleased to see them find happiness together.
They took a very troubled road but it led them to a lovely ending. The
Perfect Bride is a good story, but one I found to have more anguish
than joy.

The Perfect Bride The DeWarenne Dynasty Brenda Joyce 9780373772445 Books Reviews

Kept my interest through out.... Would have loved an epilogue at the end... Just a tad bit more, but will probably find out mote in the next book in the series... Would deed recommend!
Brenda Joyce is one of my favorite authors, I have read all the de Warenne Dynasty books and shared them when I read paperbacks much to the delight of the person I shared with. I am always keeping an eye out for any new books she writes, since I almost never watch TV this is my form of entertainment. All I can say is "thank you" to the authors with their great imaginations and some real history written along with the story, it makes learning fun. I love being able to obtain a book without leaving my home, no matter the weather I can have one within 30 seconds, fantastic. Keeping them at an affordable price is also important, if there too high I wait for the price to go down or read another book especially since you can't share using this manner of purchase.
really lovely female and male leading characters. and so good twist in the story that makes it very easy to read
Brenda Joyce is one of my favorite authors! This book is great and I will definitely keep it and reread it periodically. What higher recommendation can a reader give?
good book
I found myself wondering why I keep buying her novels when I get frustrated with her writing. I like her plots, and characters. However, her writing is very immature. There's so many times where someone "cried out." During a conversation? It got so...dramatic. The dialogue was sometimes annoying too. Also, just the way she writes is so...high school. I don't know if I'm going to buy another one of her books. I keep telling myself "Maybe this one is good, maybe this one will be a gem," and blech. Nope. I like the storyline, but not the writing. It could have been told better, and more professional.

Another thing why were all the heroines in this series blond?
I read this book after reading Lady at Last (with Tyrell and Lizzie). I usually never read out of chronology, but I was intrigued by Rex and Blanche. Plus, I have a soft spot for "Beauty and the beast" romances. I liked that both characters were flawed, it made sense why they fell in love (and not just because the other person is hot), they took time to get to know each other (8 years in the making), and the conflict wasn't drawn out, if you've read Brenda Joyce novels before, sometimes it takes a year for the hero and heroine to get over some misunderstanding, and that just makes the middle of the books quite anguishing. This book had drama, conflict, but moved at a good pace. The conflicts didn't seem forced.

One thing that I really loved about this book is that the two main characters were each other's answer for loneliness. In different ways, Blanche and Rex were so isolated from other people that it was really touching to see them find each other, and in some ways, help take the other person's walls down.
