I bought this book before a trip to Boston with friends in 2013. We all read it before getting to Boston and it enhanced our trip pleasure immeasurably. Beautiful pictures. I am now buying one for my daughter and family who will visit Boston in April. Another thin book for thosewith an appreciation of history is A Short History of Boston by Robert J. Allison, also available on Amazon.

Boston Freedom Trail eBook Blanche Linden Steve Dunwell Reviews
I bought this book two years before my trip to my Beloved Boston. It really helped to understand all of the history around me in that city and I knew what I was looking for when I had to make choices about dividing up my time while we were there. I don't think anyone can see everything in that city in one trip, and I was there for almost a week. Just a visually beautiful book with a lot of information. By the way, I saw a lot of the Freedom trail by car and spent a lot of time on foot around the Quincy Market area. There are also some great trolly tours.
This book is not quite what I imagined, but full of information nonetheless. It gives great facts about each stop on the freedom trail. I hope to be able to walk the trail without a guide and be able to know what everything is.
This book is so lame, I almost did not want to go anymore. It is written in a way that if you already know the facts you don't need it, and if you don't you don't understand it. It does not even tell you that some of the stops do not exist as such any longer, like the Latin School. The format is also not great to take along, yet the book is not pretty enough for a coffee table book.
Fortunately I came across "Freedom Trail Boston - Ultimate Tour & History Guide - Tips, Secrets, & Tricks" - I learned a lot of interesting facts and quickly figured out where I wanted to go.
Very informative and helpful.
I purchased this as a table book for a colorful picture-perfect view of Boston's top sites. I also figured if I couldn't take such great pics in person, I'd have them in a collection in a book. Beautiful book.
