Oh, where do I even begin, my fellow tattoo parlor themed romantic book loving friends? How about confessing I have enjoyed the few books I’ve read from this series so far, but that trend may now possibly be over.

Book 1, “Tall, Tatted, and Tempting”, completely drew me in, but it was Book 4, “Maybe Matt’s Miracle”, that melted my heart and had me longing to read each and every one of this now 18 book series. If you only have time to read one of these books, let that be the one, folks.

“Proving Paul’s Promise”, Book 5, was one I oddly forgot to review/rate even though I do remember reading it. All I recall there is the oldest Reed bro, who filled in as the daddy role for these siblings, finally going after and winning over the heart of the woman he thought was unobtainable.

The title of this one, Book 6, sums up my feelings pretty dang well. I felt “zip, zero, zelch”enthusiasm for this romantic tale. It had all the potential of a great read, but I’d have to compare the writing style to trying to listen to your favorite song being sung completely off key by an unknown performer. Believe me, I’m just as surprised as you, and everso so disappointed. It wasn’t just the overuse of the pronoun “I” either, since it is told in first person/dual POV. I can usually shake that off. No, it was the monotonic, wooden, mechanical, and obviously poorly scripted sentences that ruined it for me. Throw in the unlikely combination of a rough/tough NFL football player being all about baking cupcakes and the stuttering inflicted, famous drummer heroine being in an all girl band made up of her orphanage sisters, I just couldn’t conceive those scenarios as being particularly likely.

By mid-way, the writing improved somewhat but the content, not so much. The appearance of the spawn of Satan, ex-girlfriend/cheerleader drama and what Peck, the heroine, is named after further fueled my discontent and confusion. The weird, uncensored, frank discussion between Peck and her posse of sisterhood band mates regarding Sam’s manly parts had me shaking my head, as well. But the final “What the heck?” moment was a smexy scene during her monthly time, folks. Yeah, I’m so done.

Did I have enough sense to quit? No, I pushed on until the 70% mark, where I just couldn’t take it anymore. This despite the set-up for a big argument that is sure to lead to a smackdown argument and predictable separation.

Realistically, I know it is very doubtful I’ll ever get the chance to read this entire series. Now I’m no longer sure I still want to. Currently Book 1 is free. So grab it while you can. Some of the others might still be on sale, as well. However, most of them are “VERY” short novellas, so be sure to check page length if that is an issue with you. For me, when I purchase a book I expect to get a healthy dose of the author’s writing talent, not just a quick short story churned out as a filler book just to keep a series going. This one was 230 pages so a decent length in my opinion.

Well, I have zip, zero, zelch more to say about this one. Here’s to hoping others enjoy it. I feel a little bit guilty for not liking it, because I don’t mind a tough guy having a gentler side and a sweet heroine overcoming adversity. Again, it was the writing. It just didn’t feel like the same author who wrote the previous three books I’ve read.

Sam's story!!!! Since day one I have loved the Reed brothers, the women who came into their lives and the stories in between. Tammy Falkner has done it again with this book. She made me fall in love all over again. I say that A LOT, but it's oh so true!

Sam wants what his brother's have. He is a successful ball player, but he wants more than just that. He wants his soul mate. He thinks that he has found her in Peck. The problem is that Peck is insecure about herself and feels like she isn't good enough for Sam. Sam has been in love with Peck for a long time. He has kept his feelings to himself for the simple fear of being hurt, but it doesn't seem to stop him from trying to get the girl.

Peck is the drummer of an all girl band. She has a stuttering problem and the only way to keep it at bay is to tap every time she talks. She had a really bad childhood until she was adopted along with 4 other girls, all at the same time. Her life turned around after some TLC from her new adoptive parents, but it wasn't easy for her. She still had some battles to face; some outwardly and some within herself. With some help, and a lot of love and patience from Sam, she realizes she is more than she thinks she is.

Sam is a total charmer in this book, and I appreciated that he was willing to wait out Peck until she was ready to receive love and to love in return. When they finally got together it was nothing less than explosive. This book, like the others, made my heart happy. It was such a pleasure to read, and of course reconnecting with past couples. I was saddened to think that this was the end of the line for these spectacular books, but at the very end of the book the author threw in a little surprise. Hurray! I can't wait for what Mrs. Falkner has in store for us next. I am sure it will be nothing short of brilliant!
Why four stars? Here is why.

First off, all Sam wanted was Peck since we left him in Proving Paul's Promise, (yes they go that far back). I was so glad when the opportunity arose for them to finally have time to get to know one another. With the threat of Pecks birth mother coming back, I just couldn't wait for a fall out Reed Brothers style. Sam, is home recovering from a leg injury he received, he has alot of time on his hands, to watch cooking shows and cook! He loves it, but he even enjoys it more when he's doing it for someone! I liked the way the romanced built up for these too, I like that it was more fast-paced, than the others. However, what bothered me the most, was the fallout between Sam and Peck. Sam was SO in love with her, he wanted nothing more than to spend the rest of his life with her, that when they had there fallout, he just STOPPED talking to her! Really? What I loved about this series was that all these woman that the Reed brothers have, were strong! Peck, is strong, however, I felt like she gave in WAY to easy when Sam threw his fit. I felt like HE should have sought her out, not the other way around! The end, kinda had me a little disappointed, I had a lot of questions, because of the timing that things happen, I felt like there were other things that should have been brought to light as well. Which is why I gave a three star instead of five. So, I sent Tammy Falkner a message with my questions, and she assured me that they will be answered in the next few books.
